Eric C. Lyons

Eric is a graduate of Vanderbilt Law School, where he served on the Vanderbilt Law Review and as a board member of the Vanderbilt Environmental Law and Policy Annual Review. Before joining Meridian, Eric served as a law clerk for the Honorable Judge Gilbert S. Merritt, Jr., of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Eric has experience working for both corporate and individual clients in insurance defense, breach of contract and non-compete disputes, and other commercial litigation.
In law school, Eric received the Scholastic Excellence Award in Law of Cyberspace. In 2017, he was named a Law Student for Justice by the Tennessee Supreme Court for his dedication to pro bono work. During law school, Eric participated in the Vanderbilt Law School Immigration clinic, externed at the U.S. Attorney’s Office, and prosecuted criminal cases as an intern at the Metro Nashville District Attorney’s Office.
Before attending law school, Eric received a B.A. in Philosophy and a B.A. in English with honors (magna cum laude) from Vanderbilt University, where he served as the Opinion Editor of the student newspaper and assisted in coaching the undergraduate debate team.
Outside of the office, Eric enjoys cooking, gardening, painting, and writing.
